I can't imagine this is hard concept, but is there a special technique
to rubbing out flake. Or is rolling or folding better? What
consistancy should it be in. I find I get large chunks or dust. I
assume it will never be like a loose tobacco. I found I am usually
stuffing my pipe with something looks like a miniature kindling,
rather than the grass like quality of a ribbon cut or loose chip
tobacco. A flake FAQ would be good for use beginners.
Thanks,

Go to ASP FAQ and there's a description. I've found it depends on the
pipe and how long you want to smoke. I fully rub our mine, and I roll
the flake like a gigar and stick it in the bowl w/some dust on top.
Sometimes I'll bend a roll in half and stick it in. I think if you
leave it in a roll shape it burns longer. In any event pack it lightly
because va.s swell as they are smoked. McBarrens has a video available
through this site also. You can also break the flakes up into
kindling. Just put the finer strands on top to facillitate charring.
