Wet tobacco can fry your mouth. Aromatics can be nigh impossible to
dry due to the propylene glycol used to give some of them longer shelf
life. Try drying your tobacco , a bit. If it won't dry....find one
that does. For me Peter Stokkebye's Luxury Navy Flake is affordable,
bites less than most Va/Vapers and comes at the right moisture level
for smoking. Give it a try and don't huff the crap out of it. Go
slooow ! I agree with the Biotene suggestion. Also you might try a tea
tree oil toothpaste. Scrub the roof of your mouth and tongue while
brushing your teeth. I'm a Va. smoker and can attest that, even after
years and years of smoking, some tobaccos torch my mouth when I'm not
careful.

Mind you I am a fellow newbie and smoking a corncob. But I have found
that letting my pipe rest helps, as tempting as it is going for the
second bowl in one day, the second bowl is always the one the gets me.
The least bite I have found is after its rested 48 hours. I also
learned the hard way, the tip everyone else suggested, aromatics need
to dry a while. Also if it seems to be going out its better to give a
little tamping and a quick relight than to puff on it like a
locomotive. After all that advice, I must inform you I still can't
taste my chili and the roof of my mouth feels a bit like fine grit
sand paper. Bad habits die hard.
