1. Debates have rules. ASP has no rules, so the concept won't work here.

2. Debates are generally limited to two opposing sides, ASP posters exhibit numerous points of view.

3. Debates have time limits. That *might* work here, but see item #1.

4. Debates have judges who decide who wins. That'll never work here! ;-)
