allen,
i admire your spirit and that's what matters, and i really appreciate your thoughts. i am not religious, but i am devoted to my family and friends. i am full of faults of being human. i care for the human who cares for me, and be he/she of any following or religion. i see every man and woman as human. i also see animals as more human and hold close to my heart the unconditional love they bestow on you. love, is always the rarest. my grandfather used to say an old persian proverb. "love is like walking in the snows, without leaving footprints behind".
i did spend a few years in a tibetan monastery very long ago..... but i still have many faults and weaknesses. humanness sometimes takes away one's mind and no meditation can help. but just the knowledge that there are folks who care and pray for a fellow being is priceless. it works miracles and wonders. it is no surprize that the strongest of men have broken down.
you are good no matter where you come from. i have yet to see a baby that was born evil. we do get affected by our surroundings and conditions, but we are all born pure.
thank you,

Hey Darius!
What a fantastic message, man. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I completely hear you when you talk about human faults... I'm there 100%. :) That's why I tend to focus on Grace more than anything else, 'cause God knows I need it! :) [I'm probably one of the worst Xians anyone will meet.]
Amazing that you spent a few *years* at a Tibetan monastery! My hat's off to you. I'm only reading about meditation and implementing some very basic forms for stress-relief etc. I never understood it until I actually attempted it (did so with a google video of Dr. Kabat Zinn- it was excellent).
The pull of the worldly (humanness as you mention above) often scatters our brains and kills our ability to rest... With all the time you've spent meditating, I bet you know exactly how much the brain wanders so well. :) I can't even imagine how something as stressful as what you're going through would pull the mind in many different directions.
I'll pray for peace and healing for you guys, man. Also, will attempt to send some good vibes your way via meditation. :)
I'll spare you the spiel about what I think about religion. I have to admit that dogma has gotten my goat too many times to discuss. I keep it simple these days, whittle my beliefs down to their core- which I think will be the strongest bit anyhow.
Irregardless, suffering is an evil for anyone and I'll pray for an ease in the pain and suffering here.
BTW, I wanted to mention that sometimes the brain gets damaged in places that are language centers.. that prevents normal speech. [Talking etc.] But, what is totally *wild* is that often even though the language centers are damaged (in strokes for instance) the Singing/vocal places in the brain are just fine. In these cases, you can actually get them to sing songs they know without any difficulties, but they just can't speak! So, I hate to suggest it, because it might be hard, but you might want to try and get her to sing a song along with you and see if she can vocalize that way. If she can, she can make up a simple song to go along with her words (any type of music will work) and likely can communicate that way. Of course, all this is predicated on the talking center in the brain being damaged and the singing parts not damaged. (this type of stuff is usually covered under the heading of Aphasia)
In anycase, man, my heart goes out to you guys. I'll send up some more smoke and prayers on my way home again tonight.
I hope that things get better,
-Allen
