Sorry, I'm just not into making jokes out of other peoples suffering..*What* occupation? Iraq? It may have escaped your attention, but
It sucks that their only way to fight an occupation that has NO
business there is car bombs. And it sucks that its our boys and girls
getting blown up-- in fact, it sucks that anybody gets blown up, and
it sucks that some people think it's funny and laugh at it. In any
light it sucks to me.
almost all of the suicide bombings in Iraq are cases of Iraqis killing
other Iraqis. When a Sunni sets off a bomb in a marketplace full of
Shia, or vice versa, how is that fighting "an occupation that has no
business there?" It has also obviously escaped your attention, that
in the rest of the Islamic world, blowing up cars and trucks to kill
scores of otherwise innocent people is standard operating procedure
for any sort of political and/or religious dispute. That has nothing
whatever to do with Iraq. It might further have escaped your
attention that US forces will begin leaving Iraq the moment that the
Iraqis settle down and start behaving in a civilized fashion. You
see, unlike the Iraqi troops who invaded Iran and Kuwait, US troops
are not being employed to conquer and enslave.

dimensional view of politics. You're able to see the affects of it
all, but the causality completely evades you because you're unable to
see the whole forest. I've seen it time and time in your posts.
So, to be consistent, you'll need to become humorless since it is
not possible to engage in humor without potentially offending
someone.
No BS- that joke is typical of the attitude that I have observed in myYou desperately need to go live in and/or visit some other nations.
fellow Americans, that makes me ashamed to be an American.
Perhaps you'll loose this shame you have. I'm not always proud of
everything that my nation or the people in it does/do, but I am never
ashamed to be an Amercian. You speak like a spoiled child when you say
things like this.

Ooooooo sage advice Tim, I'd say I'm pretty sure I'm way more traveled
than you are, and food for thought: People in these other countries
OK - I've lived in three nations and traveled to a dozen or more
extensively. And not just as some self-loathing American tourist.
My international travels take me to places for weeks at a time.
So, yes, maybe you've gone to more places (or not) - I doubt you've
seen them with any real depth by the witness of your words.
out there are scared of us, distrustful of us, and otherwise avoid us.
You can take that to the bank.
IOW, you have NOT actually seen the places you've traveled. Unless
your travels are limited to the current Islamic world, most of the
rest of the world does not have this uniformly negative view of the
U.S. - The possible exception is if you spend your time at academic
conferences. They "avoid us"? Laughable. Every time the U.S. makes
serious noises about withdrawing our troops from most every place on
the planet, the locals go bananas. "Scared of us"? They're so scared
they clamor to come to this country, legally or not - from all over
the world. You don't see a big exodous, from, say, Somalia to
Lichtenstein or Switzerland do you? How about those Haitians who
all head for Brazil? The Mexicans who cannot wait to get into
Guatemala? "Otherwise avoid us"? Please. A good part of the world
demands we feed them, protect them, bleed for them, and then spit
at us when we ask if they would just please act politely.
Your views are sophmoric, your assesment puerile, and your conclusions
foolish - a spoiled tyke, like I said ...

LOL! Get a grip! Tim you're hilarious. And you're opinions clearly are
part of the problem, not the solution.
