We raise Boston Terriers (Terrors) so this is a story about a Boston.
The pipe smoking content here is that the money we get from the pups
goes towards buying tobacco, at least as much as the wife allows me.
For those that don't know about Doc here is the story. Doc is
Charley's litter brother but where Charley is around 28 pounds Doc is
36 pounds. Doc went to his home about two years ago. The husband of
the couple that took him has had a Boston Terrier since around 1947
and his last one had recently died. He is in poor health with
diabetes, heart trouble and emphysema and is on oxygen. At the time
they took Doc his doctor thought he might only live another six
months, but there is no expiration date on the bottom of your feet.
He is still living and both he and his wife claim that Doc is the
reason he is still alive.
The first day they took the puppy home Doc stayed right by his side
the whole night. He has become very protective of him even growling
at people who get too close. Peggy, his wife, says that Doc checks on
him about every thirty minutes during the night and if he thinks
anything is wrong will wake her up. He has awakened her a few times
for such things as the oxygen getting too low. The mans foot has
become so dark that the doctor wanted to amputate it. However, Doc
started massaging it with his paws and now some color has returned,
enough that his doctor is now taking a wait and see attitude.
DOG works in mysterious ways.
Man oh man, I've got two dogs, a mini-dachshund named Vonnegut and the
mutt of all mutts named Giselle. Truly my best friends.I believe that
dogs are the highest form of life on earth (but they hate latakia).
