I used to clean the plexi shield on my helmet with 409 and Windex. I was at
a photo framers once and started to clean my screen before I left and she
told me that those two were not good on clear plastic and would yellow them
in time. The make LCD screen cleaning solution or just use a damp rag
(water) to be safe.

I have a Dell 15 inch flat screen for my computer and while it was
powered off I decided to try cleaning the screen with Windex and a
soft cloth. However once I started to clean the edges I noticed that
it left a trace of where I cleaned. Fearing I may have damaged the
screen I didn't do the rest of the screen. So my question is did I in
fact permantly 'scar' my screen or was it that dirty? If indeed I did
damage the screen is there anything I can do or just leave it alone
from now on?
