So far, I am getting some interesting opinions, wouldn't mind a few
more. I just started into Escudo myself, and think I am leaning
towards the VA/Per end of the spectrum...

I like both! The subtle flavor nuances of a good Va is hard to beat.
But I do love the interplay that perique brings to the party. On
another note, I also enjoy the Va/Burley/Perique offering by C&D as
well.(Haunted Bookshop, OJK etc) The burleys add another dimension to
a Vaper.
