Bret,
Welcome back. I don't remember you, but that's OK. I don't remember
what attracted me to my wife, either. I read your tome, get rid of it
immediately! Given this knowledge, the newbie question pool would dry
up. We can not afford to let this happen.
Answering newbie questions, and mistreating dogs so they hide under the
bed and try to bite us, is how we validate ourselves.
Icknay on the booksay.
Regards,
Ed

I doubt there are any pipe smokers here who remember me. I was fairly
active on this newsgroup back in 1999-2000 back when I was a newbie (I'm
still a newbie). Unfortunately, life got busy and I haven't been as into
pipe smoking as I was back then. From time to time I pick the pipes back
up and spend a few evenings out on the porch. Lately I've been finding
myself out there again. It's very nice. :-)
"Way back then" I bought my old college roommate (Dave) a pipe and some
equipment and decided to write up a quick pipe smoking guide for him.
Well, one thing led to another and I ended up having a lot of fun
putting it together.
I recently stumbled across the "book" again, reformatted it to pdf and
uploaded it to my website (my latest obsession: www.geocacher-u.com).
Anyway, I wanted to post it for your amusement. Please be gentle...it
was all in fun. ;-)
