Re: Dumping a blend...

I felt the same way about Frog Morton Across the Pond. I bought it because
Latakia was mentioned on the label. When I smoked it, however, it had a
disappointing caramel or vanilla taste, which I later learned was due to
black cavendish (which is not mentioned on the label). Not even remotely
what I expected. I tried it a few more times to give it a chance, but I was
so disappointed (and frankly, mad) that I ultimately tossed it out.

I felt the same way with Dominican Glory. Put in a mason jar, and throw it
in the cellar. Who know, 10 years from now it may be like heaven.

"The fact is, squire, the moment a man takes to a pipe, he becomes a
philosopher. It's the poor man's friend; it calms the mind, soothes the
temper, and makes a man patient under difficulties. It has made more good
men, good husbands, kind masters, indulgent fathers, than any other
blessed thing on this universal earth."

Just a curious little question...
Last time I was in pipesandcigars, I bought a couple ounces of Peter
Stokkebye's Toasted Black Cav. I have been on a Stokebye kick. I like
his Bulleyes a lot. (I'm smoking it now.) I like his Heather
Raspberry and B and B. But the Black Cav has that Cavendish soupy
taste. I am so unimpressed, I feel like just chucking it.
But, that goes against the grain- tossing tobacco out. Anyone ever
face that dilemma? There is something sacriligeous about it, I think.
Maybe I should dig a hole and bury it? :)
