It's St. James Woods by McClelland... is it supposed to stain your hands
when you rub or does that mean it's too wet? because I'm getting a lot of
resin up the stem. I'm at the GRRRR and ARGGG stage of this game... I might
try it your way unless you tell me that it's the blend.

I just can't stand broken flake tobaccos anymore! I just can't figure out
how to smoke it.
Bob
Which tobacco in particular? Some of the McClelland broken flakes can be
downright trying. Here is what I do: Take a bit of the tobacco (enough
for a bowl or a little more) and place it in the palm of your hand. Rub
your hands together to further rub out the flake. Dump this on a piece of
paper. Fill the pipe, starting with the larger pieces of tobacco. No need
to be exact with this step. No need to start separating the tobacco into
perfectly sized piles! Just grab the bigger stuff and cram it in the
pipe. Keep filling the pipe with smaller and smaller tobacco, packing as
you go. Top the bowl off with some of the finest tobacco (nearly dust).
Whatever does not fit in your pipe just put back in the tin. Saves you
having to rub it out later.
