I've recently noticed in the past few days that my computer takes an
abnormally long time to boot up programs, and my Dell imaging software
sometimes won't load initially, and Word takes forever to load, whereas
before most of these programs loaded fine. I also noticed that at
times my pages become locked with a not responding error when I try and
close them. I haven't added any new programs and the only thing of note
is that for some reason my keyboard recently lost all its functions and
I had to re-load its drivers. Also, I was infected by a virus recently
but was able to remove it successfully, and have run numerous Spybot,
Ad-aware and Norton scans since then and also have Nortons firewall,
but have not found anything infecting the system. The only thing that
has changed is that I see Nortons update icon each time I boot-up, but
then disappears after awhile whereas it was never there before, and
doesn't seem to be loading any updates. When I first saw it I checked
for updates and there were some which required me to restart the system
but I dont quite understand why its always there now. My understanding
is that its only present if the system requires updates? I would
appreciate any assistance to get my system back to it former level of
efficency.

Thanks

I feel obligated to inform, and I am sure that a couple of people may
agree;
If you really want a secure, problem free computer that isn't
vulnerable to every Windows bug that comes along, Use either a Mac or
Linux. I use Linux. I don't worry about virii, malware or any of the other
crud that can infect a Windows PC. 'nuff said.
