This is a new scam. You receive an email asking if you still have an item,
or if you are interested, or did you bid on an item. When you click respond,
it asks you to sign in and then you have your password stolen.
If you receive a letter like this, you can find the item number and do a
search. If it exists, yo will find you have no connection to that item. The
best way to see if it is real, is to go to your home page and check your
ebay mail. Odds are it won't show up there. Never log in to ebay from an
email.

Gene sent a nice letter to me suggesting I send it to the seller accusing
me
of switching stems and refusing a refund. When I did not hear back from
her
I went to Pay Pal and filed a dispute. I explained the situation as
honestly
as I could and waited. A few days later I get a message from PP saying my
claim was denied. I was furious. The seller has the pipe and my money. PP
says they reached that conclusion after actually speaking with the seller.
It doesn't matter that I have a perfect feedback score with Ebay and
several
hundred perfect transactions with them. I appealed explaining that she has
the pipe and my money. Two days later they reversed the decision and gave
me
a refund. I am only out the return shipping but I am pissed. If I now
leave
bad feedback for her she will also return the favor.
I guess I was lucky it just cost aggravation.
If any one is interested, the sellers ID is ursmine.

I've got almost the opposite problem.
About a month ago I had a HD crash. I was off line for two weeks while I
got up and running with a new box.
I have received e-mails from an "Ebay" seller asking why I haven't paid for
the item I was high bidder on. The only problem is I do not know what it
is, or how much I bid. And this person is not giving me the information.
In addition, when I go to the site to answer them, it is in a foreign
language that I cannot even recognize, much less understand.
My replys to the e-mail have gone unanswered, except to get an occasional
repeat of the first e-mail.
If that person reads this NG, please e-mail me directly, and in English,
with the details of the transaction. We can solve the problem.
