to really adhere to it, unless it bonds on a microscopic level. You COULD
scuff the glass with alox sandpaper, or etch it with acid to give the
glue something more substantial to grip. Even most industrial strength
contact adhesives aren't really good at sticking stuff to glass. They
need a porous surface to bite into.



Maybe I'll switch to clay flowerpot saucers. I'm not wedded to my
glass ashtray.
