Good morning (afternoon) Jack and ASP -
This morning I was on my way home from the Dr's office (blood sample
for thyroid function test (first one was "borderline," whatever that
means) and checked the mailbox. I was greeted by a box containing an
eBay pipe I won on a whim for $10 (which included shipping). The
description was simply "pipe," accompanied by a blurry photograph. I
have gotten some amazing bargains (and duds) this way, but, what the
hell, at $10 I was willing to take a gamble.
The pipe is a Nording Plateax - weird shape but with a beautiful deep
ring blast. Acrylic stem with minimal bite marks, which suspect is a
replacement as the trademark script "N" is missing. Anyway, I reamed
it, ran a few whiskey-soaked bristle cleaners through it, polished the
stem and loaded it with Dan Tobac Sweet Vanilla Honeydew. Damn thing
smokes like a champ. No overt ghost flavors, no gurgles, passes
cleaner with no problems.
Sometimes I get lucky.
Currently smoking PS Heather Honey (hey, I'm in a sweet aromatic mood
today) in a Bjarne, Diet Rite cola on the side. Hope everyone has a
bit of serendipity today.
