Good Morning ASP,
Today's my last day off and last day to sleep-in, so naturally, I can't
sleep. This time tomorrow, I'll be rushing through the door to clock-in
and take my place on the assembly line to build refrigerators so people
can keep their beer cold. Debating on whether to make coffee now or
wait and go back to bed later. I have the window open and just
listening to the wind in the oak and hickory trees and to my wind
chimes. It's 51 with 18 MPH winds, here on the Okla/Ark border. If it
wasn't so dry I'd swear it was going to storm. The Volunteer Fire
Departments have been very busy in the area as you've heard on the
news.

I found my SMS meer sitter that I had not finished so am DGT C&D
Mississippi Mud and have a bowl of GLP BS in a Dublin shaped Peterson's
De Luxe packed and ready after I finish this pipe. This Pete happens to
be one of my best smokers, P-lip and all. For some reason of all my
Pete's with the P-lip this is the most comfortable. The shank is
spliced and it looks like it was done at the factory. I've asked before
on this board but never got a reply IIRC but I'm guessing that maybe it
is WW2 production and could have been made when quality briar was
scarce and the manufactures would glue scraps of briar together to
stretch their small supply to keep up with the demand for new pipes. I
have to look close to see where it's spliced so I don't think its a
repair. Another couple of puffs to go on the meer and then I'll light
up the good stuff. <G>
