Distinguished Penguin - I don't get it

This is not a slam on Russ Oulette; I like several of his blends
including Louisiana Red, Larry's Blend, and Tne to Midnight. After all
the raving reviews about Distinguished Penguin, I had to order some.
The tobacco I got is 90% to 95% blond with specs of black. I am not
sure how Viriginia is so yellow - it is not something I have seen in
other blends that I smoke. Most virginias I have ever seen are a rich
golden color. The flavor was very flat to my taste, and needless to
say, I was dissappointed.
Yes, I prefer strong tobaccos. Maybe this is just not in a genre that
I like and I am trying to learn more. Please understand that I am
asking for info and enlightenment here and not a debate on the quality
of the tobacco. I am trying to also learn how to judge the tobacco by
description. This one just totally took be by surprise.
I will probably let it sit and try it again, but wanted to get input on
what I was missing. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks-
Ed
