While I can understand the purpose of emissions testing (one day in Calcutta will drive the point home -npi-) I don't understand why any new automobile should be tested until it is at least several years old, since all new cars are built to current emissions standards. I think the first 5 years of testing is pure government ball squeezing. And what about all those industrial trucks spewing the fumes?
