Relax, I know what I'm doing...I'm a surrealist. By the bye' I'm
reading a fantastic book (not for how it's written...just journalism,
not incandescent prose by any means)...An Invisible
Spectator...Biorgraphy of Paul Bowles... Imagine a person who is
working out his destiny as he makes the transition from composer to
novelist, collaborating with Tennessee Williams, Brion Gysin, Wm S
Burroughs...etc etc etc...Kazan even used his music. This is a pipe
smoking book if for no other reason that you have to appreciate the
idea that the man is awaiting the unfolding of his destiny. Once long
ago, I googled a thread on the origins of the expression pipe dream.
The material was very rich...even suggesting an earlier
meaning...valeity...a wish so faint as to be not accompanied by
volition to fulfill it. I was tremendously excited at the time, b/c I
recognize this sort of impulse as a 'twitch' of the ego-mind, something
that is the opposite (maybe?) of destiny... Ping Dr. Blues... when do
you just think it and when do you mean it? Is my recipe above poison?
I'll let y'all know.
