Morality might have nothing to do with "religion," i.e., a spiritual
reckoning for actions.

Not quite the issue. I'm asserting that IF morality has
nothing to do with religion, then it's not possible to
talk about "inherent" badness. You can build up a system
of morality based on society's opinions, but it's hardly
an objective morality. In such a system, it's the
opinions which impose "badness" on an action, and nothing
inherent in the action itself.

Although, as I've said, I open to hearing of some way to
define inherent badness without religion. I just can't
imagine one.
