WRT auditing the Fed: Say Ron Paul is correct and the whole thing
runs on smoke and mirrors. What good would it do to alert the world
currency markets to this fact?

Reality is ALWAYS your friend.

If the world currency markets are operating under false assumptions,
that's A Bad Thing. Exposing the fact, while it may cause some upset
at the beginning, will result in stronger, healthier markets.

"The first step to wisdom is calling things by their right name."

If RoPaul is right, opening the kimono would cause more than "some
upset". The dollar would crash. The economy would implode. I admire
honesty as much as the next guy, but if silence will maintain our
current standard of living then I'm all for it.
