Well, there's a big difference between us, I suppose.  You seem to
want the government to DO things, whereas I'd be happy if it took
more naps and maybe worked at dismantling 75% of itself.

government (the "correct" 75%, of course! :), and giving everyone
laid-off 100% pensions.  Sure, it'd cost some, up front, but I'm ok
taking a little pain today for the better long term...)

That is, I think, one of the fundamental unspoken differences between
America and other countries like Canada. People bitch about
government waste and incompetence and all the rest of it, but I don't
there is the same degree of mistrust.

I really think think that that IS an Oh DUH thing!  I've only spent a
bit of time over the pond, but have conversed with many friends via
email and find you incorrect.  Especially in the case of over a dozen
men who are yet fighting the health system ....   so sad!
