I meant it was a good start to understanding why socialism was evil.

To my knowledge the only place where socialism worked the way the
political theorists envisioned it was in Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek
series. When tried in the real world it has collapsed (or is collapsing)
under it's own economic weight or, as in the case of China, been forced
to adopt capitalist underpinnings.

Actually Communism works great in my family. We have a benign Communist dictatorship in my home. :)

It also works with small groups of hippies on communes.

It breaks down where the people don't love each other.
