I was having trouble finding a copy of an out of print book (not particularly rare, just not particularly popular) when I managed to find TWO copies at my local library. I asked the lady if I could buy one and she said they weren't for sale. So I asked "what happens if I check out a book and my dog eats it?" She said "then we charge you replacement cost."
....So that's what happened. <G>
Misc "This was before Amazon. I later found a copy on-line and bought it, and donated the NEW copy to the library. :)"
