the city's Deputy City Attorney assured one local
newspaper that Santa Monica will certainly ban smoking in all
multi-unit buildings because "we have always passed these laws in

All the problems California has and THIS is their focus?
At some point that place is going to be the most up-tight white bread
place in the country.

At SOME point ?!?!?

Good point. I'm just surprised to see the birthplace of the hippie
movement get so uptight and uniform, all marching in left footed
lockstep. Back in the day it was do your own thing, now it's do our
thing or else.

Don't be surprised. The reason is not that hard: all those
hippies got *old*, and they expect to get much, much older yet.
Health is a priority for them to the point of obsession.

They got old, but they never grew up.
