Schiavo was easy...she had a valid advance directive. No court in the
land would've kept her on life support.

Do you have a cite for that? If that is the case, I was completely wrong about the whole case. But from what I remember her "advanced directive" was something she told to her ex-husband with a honey on the side while his wife lay vegetating in bed. Also if I remember correctly, there were questions about foul play with regards to the ex-husband.
