a) Your friend is a little scary.
He likes to explore the edges. While he *is* a little scary, I may have presented such a narrow side that he came across as more- or differently-so than is actually the case.
b) Yes privacy can be trained out. We do it to prison inmates all the time.
Right, but not without damaging them. That's my point. I'm saying that too much government intrusion (even subtle stuff like cameras on lamp-poles) weakens the society. "We didn't change the actual crime-rate, but we made every citizen into a prisoner" isn't really a win.
