Why do you say that? To those with faith, it makes perfect sense. To those without faith, it's just another theory. Somewhat difficult to prove, but a theory nonetheless.

They are both "theories" in the lay sense that they are "wild-assed guesses put forth without any supporting evidence."

Neither are "theories" in the scientific sense (look it up.) And your use of "difficult to prove" is misleading to the point of being borderline fraudulent.
