Aside from Josephus's three sentence account (most likely a forgery in
copying from the original), there is NOTHING in historical records.
And that's amazing, in light of the fact that the Romans were
inveterate record-keepers. We have *tons* of contemporary
material, right down to individual household shopping lists. No
mention of JHesus, though, even though his execution was not your
ordinary run of the mill judicial process: crucifixtion was
reserved for political high crimes, and those were certain to be
recorded, debated, taken note of and commented on by any literate
Roman.
