You call that a glancing blow?! The concrete was almost perpendicular to
the direction of the car's travel - maybe 80 degrees, but not what I'd
call glancing.
It barrier was clearly angled such that the broadest surface to hit it was the SIDE of the car, not the front. Yes the front corner took the first impact, then the car turned and hit it sideways. The passenger-side door opened AND RE-LATCHED!, and was nearly unmarred.
I call that "glancing."
