I was reading some of the details on the new, improved health care
bill today. Some damned good stuff in there...
I like how they are going to "save" money on Medicare, while spending
it twice...
I like how states that already meet the plan's requirements are only
going to get 50% reimbursement, while those who don't will get the
full boat.
I like how they are going to tax all of the health insurance companies
to pay for it, well except for 2 State's Blues...
I like how it will take 60 votes to pass it through the Senate, but
some provisions somehow require a UNANIMOUS vote to repeal?
I like how "we" are going to insure 30 Million people with all these
new taxes. Just not right now...
It's a great bill!
While I have my own issues with the Senate bill, the final result has yet to be realized. While the PO and Medicare buy-in are surely DOA, the final shape of the legislation is up in the air. It couldbe better, it could be far worse. You're just being a pre-mature, paranoid, reactionary, bed-wetting conspiracy theorist. But that and the fact that today is Thursday sort of go hand in hand.
Sorry, Paul, but this is the Senate Bill that will be voted on, and by ALL accounts, it is the only bill with a chance of passing. The deals that Sir Harry has made to hit 60 votes will fall through if there are pretty much any changes made by the House.
So, the bottom line is that we either get this horrible (not bad but horrible) bill, or we are back where we were...
