See the second word above ? The one right after alt. ? That's the
defining word of who/what the group is for....smokers. The next word
defines what type of smokers the group is for...NOT the group itself.
Each word in an .alt newsgroup name refers only to the word before
it. Since I am sure that this is the first time this has been
explained to you, we'll leave it at that. .Alt hierarchy is not open
for discussion...you don't get to decide what/who the group is
for...sorry :)

Honestly, this is as formalistic, tired and self-serving as ever. ASC has
always been a mix of cigars and other discussions. But, when it loses a
significant cigar content, it loses its reason for existing.

I know that the cigar content question has been used by trolls as an excuse
for their inexcusable behavior. Unfortunately, this makes responsible
posters who question the content look bad.

It is reasonable to think that posters (including me) can throw in some
cigar related threads. And suggesting the need for cigar content is not a
reason to be labeled a "whiner."
