I was smoking a (domestic) Punch tonight, and that's what happened.
For the first 2/3 of it, the burn was perfectly straight and even,
nice flavors, good smoke volume, just a nice easy smoke.
Then out of the blue as I entered the last 1/3, the burn stopped on
one side, it started wanting to go out. I had to take 3 or 4 puffs to
get any smoke. I corrected the burn with my trusty torch, but no dice,
that sucker was determined to burn sideways. It was almost like it was
designed to be finished at that point.
Does that ever happen to you? Does it seem like the cigar is saying
it's finished, whether you are or not?
Not exactly like that, but yeah. It usually seems like cigars want to
go out right around the 2/3 - 3/4 mark if they feel they are done...
;-)
I have often found myself happily smoking a nice cigar, then suddenly
find it is no longer burning. And it's almost always at around the
same place...
