Many years ago I worked in the regional offices of Kmart. Unless
policy has changed drastically since their merger with Sears, this is
untrue.

Lots changes in "many years." If you want an example of good
employee/employer relations you can look at the Costco model. They
actually treat employees fairly, if not so extravagantly in pay. Costco
consistently gets negative marks on Wall Street for its
"excessive labor costs." Like that is a crime? Excessive being
defined as time on the clock and paid holidays? I suppose if they
whipped their employees till their skin was flayed off their backs it
would be a plus stockwise?
