Well, that is not really correct. Christians believe that one single
God is recognized in three forms. God the Father _IS_ the Almighty
God of Abraham. Jesus is recognized as God's corporal form and the
Holy Spirit is the form of God that connects directly to a man's soul.
Only the limited grasp that we humans have of complex thought makes it
so we Christians must separate God into 3 forms.
Jews, Muslims, Catholics and Protestants (most at least) all believe
in the same God. We just can't agree on the forms we recognize.
I suppose you're right. But it seems to me if this sort of religious mental
gymnastics is running through your head, you've lost sight of the point of
it all (not you specifically, just in general).
It reminds me of the convoluted nonsense that the Catholic Church has
wrestled with in the past on a thousand different topics. And the Moslems
are no better - imagine a religion run by religious lawyers. And the Jews
ought to have a pretty simple theology, but they too have splintered into a
hundred sects base on some insignificant points of contention.
"I love God. It's his fan club that I can't stand."
Amen to that.
