Having formerly been one of the staunchest defenders of the viability

virtually worthless as either a source of cigar information or a fun/
sociable place to be.
I might disagree. There have been appropriate cigar related posts
peppered with the other verbiage. And, ASC was never meant to be only
a cigar information site. Most of the posters here are well enough
acquainted with cigars but want a bit of camaraderie as well.
Yes, there are a number of X-ASCers on other groups who were siphoned
away. I wish they were back but they're not. ASC moves on. And, I
hope in the future, at the next cigar boom, that ASC re ignites with
the flame that it started with at the previous cigar boom.
Finally, it's amazing how many veteran ex-ASC-posters who left, return
for a brief, "Hey, just thought I'd stop by again" string. Is it
they're bored with other boards? ASC is still the board they run back
to, just to make sure there are some things irrevocable. ASC is
sort of like the cigar board parent. Like kids, those posters stop by
periodically to their home. There is of course, no place like home.
