Hey, one of you probably has an idea about this...
I'm looking for a beginner's or layman's (non-mathematician's) book
about reasoning for someone I'm coaching. Maybe not necessarily a
"textbook", but just something that explains how logic works.
My goal is to guide her along improving her inductive and deductive
reasoning while helping her avoid jumping to conclusions, drawing from
insufficient data and similar pitfalls. She seems to (and says she
does) prefer learning from books, initially, then discussing the topic
once the basics are absorbed.
Any recommendations?
I feel stuck in that I can think of a dozen great books, but they're
all sort of the SECOND (or later) book you'd read on this subject,
and I can't think of any "introduction to"-type books.
Thanks!
There must be a "Logic for Dummies" book isn't there?
bernie..just seems logical
