STATES can provide such healthcare, at their own expense, but the
fed-gov cannot.
Sure it can. First Congress is authorized to collect taxes. And
if
Feds can give the wealthy tax vouchers to indirectly subsidize the
"self-governance"of private schools then they can do the same for health care to
the
unwashed masses.

See, now you are getting it. They shouldn't be doing either. They
do
not belong in the education system OR the health care system...
What Joe said.
It's whatever *we the people* want. That's what is called
itand you guys look at it completely wrong. It is not "them" versus "us"
ais US. And it is the loss of that concept which allows "them" to
create
now, form of government which is feared by the people. Which is what we are
ryand we have your kind of thinking to blame. Cynical and selfish
"libertarians" never have nor ever will bring anything good to this
count
ofor this world. That is because the antithesis of *us* is *me*.
The Constitution has provisions for being modified. All it takes is
3/4
"we the people" to want it ad it is then the law of the land.

"We have given you a Republic, for as long as you can keep it!" --
James Madison
Wrong - that was Benjamin Franklin.
My source said Madison, and I didn't research it. Sorry. The sentiment
remains.
Spoken like a true anarchist. I mean libertarian.
Cute.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can
only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves
largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the
public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses
over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship."--
Alexander Tytler
Another great way to do it is to let republicans control the purse
strings.
Then they hand out the public treasury like lottery winnings to their
favorite cronies while telling you to expect less and less from your own
government until the day comes when you've had enough and overthrow it.
Like they did in 1776.
I'm all for it. Let's reset to the 1776 set up. No income tax,
Senators represent the Several States instead of the wealthiest
citizens, weak Federal government, citizens self sufficient, no
welfare, no social security, no Medicare/caid, no Federal interference
in schooling or medicine or business. Yay.
You'd not survive 5 minutes in the world that was the 18th century.
I believe you're mistaken.
I've
said it before and I'll say it again, if you like what we call "modern
society" or what we call "civilization" then you'd better be prepared to
help pay for it. That is what you guys never realize. The things you take
for granted every day and could not fathom life without come at a cost. Oh
and their was taxation back in those days, lots of it. Taxes so onerous
that many could not pay and were imprisoned or made into defacto slaves to
the state. Except that most all of his taxes were used to support a
privileged elite and their wars of profit. Another big reason we had a war
with them. Does that situation sound a tad familiar?
Yes, that's why we had the revolution. The period I'm talking about is
after we broke away from those who imposed those "onerous taxes". As
you well know.
The only thing I would insist we keep would be civil rights
legislation that absolutely guarantees that everyone is treated
exactly the same. No preferences for pet groups, no special treatment
for anyone, no racial quotas. "All men are created equal".
Written in the day when slavery was legal and women had no rights to speak
of. See how thing were not quite as rosy as you may think?
Hence the qualifier.
