Once again the Democrats are shown to be much bigger hypocrites. Both
sides are hypocritical at times, yes, for sure. But Democrats foment,

I don't get it. What's wrong with being rich and voting democrat at
the same time?
Nothing, in and of itself. But being wealthy and then attempting to
use class envy to secure people's votes is hypocritical.
No more hypocritical than trying to garner votes by appealing to
prejudices,
fears or greed. All parties are equally guilty in that regard; only their
choice of emotional trigger differs.
It most certainly is more hypocritical. I said "hypocritical", not
"reprehensible" or "shameful".
It is the height of hypocrisy for someone like Edwards, who is a
multimillionaire, to attack the wealthy in this country for political
gain.
It's only hypocritical if he is not prepared to submit to the same rules.
There comes a point where wealth ceases to be meaningful. If you have the
best cars, two or three homes, enough money to last you a lifetime, and all
the luxury goodies you could desire, what do you do then? Is there not a
point at which enough really is enough? So why should such people not be
made to return some to the country that enabled them to amass all their
wealth in the first place? OK, so many of them do exactly that without
having to be forced into it by taxation, but equally there are plenty who do
not. A case can be made that such useless excess wealth is not beneficial
to the individual, his family or his society and country.
It is hypocritical for liberals and Democrats to claim the Republicans
are the "party of the wealthy". when in fact, the Democrats are. The
Democrats have labored long and hard to create that false impression,
when the actual FACTS tell a completely different story.
That may well be so.
Still, politics is first and foremost a business of impressions and beliefs.
Facts are convenient only if they fit into the story, can be made to support
one's impressions and beliefs.
