Jeremy, I'd offer you the spare room, but I don't have one. As it is,
my bed is a foot too short and I split my head open in the midget
sized bathroom last week. There are some relatively good hotel deals
at times, I usually stay in the Husa hotels when I travel in the area.
They're nothing special, but usually a good value. There are also a
lot of short-term rentals available.

Thanks for the thought, but the rentals sound good as I will probably have SWMBO with me and she likes my cooking and a little comfort.
I have a friend in Tarragona and another in one of the Islas Baleares so Barcelona would be a nice compromise, allowing a quick trip over to Provence and a slow wander back through upper Aquitaine with a stop for a sip here and there :-)
