One hallmark of liberals seems to me to be their unswerving belief in
their own intellectual superiority.

I agree that the free flow of information is vital.

If it is so vital then I'd expect to see something more from you than
trfashing the efforst of those who wold defend it. To us "lefties" it is a
cherished right. To the rest, it is just something that can be sold to make

Jefferson was uneasy about corporations, and didn't trust them. But I
certainly wouldn't call him an arrogant liberal, since he wasn't a
communist/socialist.

Why should he trust them when he saw what the Dutch and British East India
Companies had done to them?

Maybe he was a little arrogant, but at least he had something to be
arrogant about, unlike today's libs, smug in their failures, because
they had goooooood intentions, while deriding conservative's

Depends on what you call success, Mike. If trashing the Constitution and
turning the government over to the hands of the likes of Murdoch and other
predatory capitalists is success, then yeah, we resent the hell out of them
and will stop them. There are other ideals at stake here that transcend
your profit over all mentality. Not everything of value has a price. Just
because they have all the money and all the power does not mean they have
your's or this country's best interest at heart. Hell Murdoch isn't even an
American. I can hardly wait for the day when all of my news is controlled
by a Australian investor and his multi-national stockholders. I'm sure all
of them will have nothing but respect for what is right and will never put
their own special interests and money above their belief in democratic
values.

corporate success story but to me that is the death of democracy itself.

Until the federally funded taxpayer supported networks, PBS and NPR
show some semblance of balance or fairness, the left has ZERO
credibility on this issue. None at all. Zip. Nada. NONE ... AT ...

mighty fair job of getting the truth out. Think we'll ever see another
