After 8 years on the job, they canned my ass today. It sucks, but on a
positive note I have enough in savings I could afford to be out of
work for a year before I feel a serious pinch, plus I have three full
coolerdors to keep me company through the crappy Chicago winter.
Things could be worse.

Been there twice - first time company went bankrupt. My last job - I was
also there 8 years - the company got bought and they let go most of the
senior management. They called me 6 months later asking me if I wanted my
old job back so at least I got the last laugh.
Ray - What kind of work do you do. If it's computer programming send me an
e-mail I may be able to help if you're interested in moving to Madison, WI.
