Ronson butane fuel?

I finally put two and two together: I have been using Ronson fuel for two decades, primarily as fuel for my portable soldering iron. This soldering iron has a catalytic tip. It recently failed (will no longer combust)and just today my Colibri has failed after only one refill (clogged, I think) Has the fuel done this to me? Anybody with similar experiences?
