Only an blind man would fail to see that for the first time in geological history, the elevated carbon dioxide levels are preceding a warming cycle without an impact or increased volcanism.
We have been fortunate that since the last climate changing impact that ended the ice age, the climate has been unusually stable.

Expecting metastability in the wake of the industrial revolution and the effects of whaling, deforestation, and irrigation from aquifers, is a naive.
Ironically, although the short term warming is obvious, the destabilization may lead to a rapid onset of global cooling. The latest data indicates that the changes may not be measured in centuries, but in decades.
