and that, dear friends, is the difference between Nutritionists and
Dietitians.
I've known a couple of Dietitians over the years. One served mostly pasta
dishes to her family and the joke between us was "you must think I only know
how to cook pasta" because I never had a meal at her home that was not high
glycemic pasta with sweet sauces, bread and salad with bottled dressing full
of fat and sugar. The other "professional" claimed that peanut butter was
the perfect food and should be eaten every day, she ran marathons with
almost no food before or after and had exercised/ dieted herself to a point
where she hadn't had a period in years. I don't know any Nutritionists but I
do know a number of Physicians who smoke cigarettes and a number who are
quite overweight. The number of grossly obese Nurses working in the health
system is at almost an epidemic level.
The point being that you can't go by what "Health Professionals" say about
what to put into your body. They don't seem to know (or care) any more than
you or me, no matter how many "references" they can cite. I believe that you
make your own choices and work out for yourself what to eat, drink, shoot or
smoke. If you get sick and become a burden to society because of your
"dissipated lifestyle", the rest of us will just have to suck it up and pay
the cost. Unless they start shooting smokers and fat people and alcoholics.
Come to think of it, California has almost reached that stage.

Still in pretty good shape but 30 pounds overweight, smoking cigars and
drinking fine alcoholic beverages.
