There's nothing wrong with offering a burger for lunch. Burgers are
good food. Seriously.
I thought the school lunch program was meant to subsidize those kids who
couldn't always afford a nutritious meal, and to make sure they got at
least one a day. To that end, there's no reason why said can't be
offered and made a tasty choice at the same time. That is, there's no
reason why inexpensive + nutritious has to equal "slop."
I'm with you that there's no excuse for candy & chip vending machines @
school, though. Who's idea was that, anyway? What problem were they
trying to solve?!
