Here's a few (significantly) new developments from the RTDA this year:
General Cigar is coming out with an individually boxed super-super-
premium called "Stradivarius," which is also the name of an old line
of violins (apparently). These will retail at $30 a stick or higher.
Did General learn ANYTHING from the Partagas 160?
Perhaps they didn't need to learn anything. Ashton is selling "super
premium" cigars for $30 retail AND MORE. The question is, are they going to
reach new stratopheric levels of hype in order to sell them? I can hardly
wait to read it!

Most people I know within the industry are having trouble selling
their remaining stock of 160s, Michael.
Sure, there was an initial "hype" of them and I even bought a couple
to save. But they are nothing special and people quickly realized
this.
Thus, whatever is still out there is out there in quantity. The
specials on these are getting better and better, if anyone reading
this likes them. I've seen boxes on the internet for around $300....
