By the way - I am NOT defending Bart Mickey, or me ... we need no
defending! I am speaking to the cause of education - especially in
the areas of math, science and history.

We inhabitants of earth have a very rich heritage that has developed
slowly over many years,and has been our formation. Many years ago,
people spoke of the 3 R's - little did they then realize how much a
foundation they were creating - all learning and THUS ALL
ACCOMPLISHMENT comes from this base!

Yes, many parents do a great job of home schooling their kiddos (a
bunch of nephews included) but at the university level, we reach the
need for both diversication and intensification in many subjects,

Example - a knowledge of Algebra is needed for learning Calculus, but
it is not a substitute for Calc.... any more than passing calc1 means
you will master DifQ - or that Chemistery is equal to Physics....
sigh ... or trying to discuss anything on an intellectual level will
work with an internet troll (especially a childish one)!
