This is all great information. I have another n00b question - Does
the size and shape make a difference in the taste of a cigar? I find
that sometimes, a belicoso is a bit milder than say a shorter and
skinnier cigar. Is that a general rule, or does the size and shape
not matter? (I know, this is very risky wording, so I hope I can
still get good information about CIGARS, and not...well, you know) :)
It depends. In non-cubans, it seems like blenders are careful to keep
the flavors the same across a line, regardless of size. IOW, a RyJ
Reserva Real will have the same flavors regardless of the size.
In Cubans, different sizes in the same line can be surprisingly
different, for example, a Montecristo #2 pyramide vs a Montecristo #4
PC.
