the Rule of Law.

Scooter Libby obstructed an investigation into the traitorous act of
outing a covert CIA asset for political purposes. He was found guilty by
a jury. The judge in the case said there was no way he was NOT guilty
and that he would go to jail while he appealed. A three judge panel
(made up of judges appointed by GOP presidents) ruled unanimously that
he had to serve the time. There is no doubt that he caused the
investigation into who committed treason to be derailed. Thus, Bush
commutes his sentence so he doesn't have to spend one day in jail and he
is rewarded for his obstruction of justice into treason from within the
White House.

The Rule of Law is dead.

Something must be alive to become dead. This *** has been happening
since as far back as I can remember....well, maybe not with Carter :)

And, curiously, many folks consider Carter to be a poor president. It
speaks volumes about our expectations.

It sometimes seems that our most effective presidents have been the
most "crooked". Maybe it's a job requirement ? Carter was just a
eunuch.
